Edging Past & I Don't Like It!

Last night was not my fondest as a sports fan and enthusiast. Not only did my Alma mater #1, the University of Florida, lose to in-state rival Florida State, but somehow Belmont edged past my Ohio Bobcats as well! My only saving grace is that Alma mater #2, University of Wisconsin, beat Minnesota. Lawdy, it would have been a sad and gloomy Sunday if I would have been 0-3. However, I am a competitor, and 1-2 is not sitting well with this lady!

Although the footall season is nearly over, the basketball season is still at its infancy. So much can occur in the next couple of weeks and months, so I am defintely not losing faith!

Ok, I have maybe lost faith in my dem' Florida boys! Ugh, I was really looking forward to a repeat of last year' s Final Four when Alma mater #1 and #2 were in the Final Four! Praise the lord, that I have two Alma maters to root for!

This is my favorite A-Game Attire ensemble to date! I don't know this J.Crew sweater is oh so cozy, and I have had it for years!!!

Final Score:: 81-83

Post-Turkey Sweat Out

Yesterday morning we all got up early to partake in the annual Turkey Trot hosted by the Athens Running Club! Once we returned home, I jumped on the treadmill and walked another 3 miles while watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Although I am not a huge fan of walking, it was a nice break, and I am ready to pound out on the treadmill!

After eating my weight in food and probably quadruple in calories, I was ever so excited to do a home workout this afternoon. You see my gym is closed until Monday so for the next few days I will be inventing my own workouts and sharing them with you!

As you can see, this workout requires no equipment. Depending on where you live, you can even do this workout outside!

I did this workout for 6 rounds, and I am now ready for a nap!

Giving Thanks

I am grateful for my family. I am so blessed to have such wonderful extended family. As my family grows, I look forward to building relationships with our new family members as well. Now, my use of "family" includes relatives as well as close friends nationwide. This life as a coach's family is not always easy but I have a fabulous support system of other coaches wives all around. I too am thankful for my girlfriends that I have befriended because of school, pageants, and blogging. It is really awesome to know you have others that want and wish you the best in all of your endeavors. But, I would not be standing here today if it were not for my loving parents, in-laws, and of course darling husband. I am ever so gracious for their support as I have followed my dreams, as I have built a family, and as we forge a legacy for our future children (and Prince).

I too am thankful for all of my blog followers. I must share that blogging has really evolved into such a fun, and note-worthy hobby for me. I look up to so many other bloggers in this business, and simply enjoy sharing my little life with the world.

That Was A Close One - Bobcats vs Golden Lions

This post is coming a little later in the day then I typically prefer. Coach Kemp assists me with embedding my A-Game Attire emblem on each of my photos. Today, he had practice and then I asked him to complete a last-minute grocery store visit, and well we know how those lines are this time of the year!

Well, last night's game was a little more agonizing than anyone in the Convo expected! You know, sometimes teams under-estimate their opponents and it ends up biting them in their rear! In my humble, non-basketball knowing opinion, this was the problem with our game verse University Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

Sure, we won so I am not completely complaining. Contrarily, I am simply making an observation; one that Coach Kemp will certainly give me a stern side-eye later for making, but you know I am pretty opinionated! He even shared this fact in his recent College Chalktalk article about "Family!"

Oh, and these are shorts, not a skirt! Too cute, right?!?! I too wore these shorts at one of the first football games of the season.

 Final Score: 69-60

Weekly Round-up Final Edition

I was planning to extend this series out until our trip to Hawaii in December. However, my feelings have changed over the last few weeks. I started this series when my family began our journey through the Whole 30 (week 1, week 2, week 3, week 4). Although I have really enjoyed documenting my weekly eats to you all; as it assisted with my accountability and was a good diary, it now is losing some steam!

Now, with the basketball season, my dinners and lunches are not as interesting because many days I am only feeding myself. I too am not following the Whole30 diet plan or even a strict Paleo diet. I am simply eating whole, organic, and as many local foods as possible.

I did take a few pictures of the eats from the week, but they were limited. For example, today I had eggs and bacon for breakfast; a salad for lunch; Donkey Coffee decaf coffee and trail mix for snack; and we will be having left-overs for dinner.

Slow Cooker Greek Chicken Soup & Paleo Sweet Potato Biscuits

Paleo Sweet Potato Sloppy Joes (minus the Sweet Potato) + Cottage Cheese
The Paleo Sloppy Joe recipe was a rendition of the original recipe as I accidentally purchased tomato sauce, instead of tomato paste. The Sloppy Joe dish actually reminded me more of a chili than anything, and was delicious with a dollop of cottage cheese (not pictures is the hot sauce!).

Mini Cauliflower Pizza

Fruit-filled French Toast

Because, I have received several text messages, Facebook messages, and blog comments from those that are enjoy this series. Please feel free to follow my three main food Pinterest boards: Whole30/Paleo, Side Dishes Galore, and What's For Dinner?!? I will continue to update those boards with new recipes, and who knows, maybe this series will come back in a few months!

A-Game Attire with Restless Arrow

Hey y’all! I am so thankful for Michelyn for having me today! She may be regretting this once she realizes I’m truly no help at all because I don’t buy name brand so most of the clothes I have on in the following pictures are just lucky finds (or borrowed from my mom…oops!)!

As a coach’s wife, it’s fun to dress in his team colors! Not only does it give me a chance to be a little bit creative but the possibilities are endless…say if I just want to wear a t-shirt that day, then a team shirt it is and I can call it a day! But, if there’s a big game or I’m coming straight from work then I need something a little more dressy, or trendy. I also love to dress my boys in Coach’s team colors! I wish I had a picture but they were still at daycare when I snapped these! (If you're interested in how the Coach and I met, you can read our little love story...we actually met the first day of kindergarten!).

I’m not sure if Michelyn knew this or not, but I actually used to be a coach! I used to coach cheerleading and our colors were black and gold, and let me just tell you, black is SO easy to find! Now, red and navy? Not so much! But we LOVE our little small town. Russ is actually coaching at the high school where we graduated so it makes this job extra special! We have a total of three red lights in our town but we wouldn't change a thing about the close knit community. We know people or know their families and we can always make a connection somehow. As teachers, we are both teaching in places we went to school! Russ and I actually coached and taught in a previous district before we came back home so it was fun to be able to work together, ride to school together, and learn from those coaching experiences. Now, I am truly convinced this has helped shape me as a coach's wife. I understand the demands because I lived it first hand. If I could offer any advice, it would be to be supportive no matter what...and don't ask a lot of questions if they lose. :)

Now, for what I wear! Thankfully, several weeks ago, I found a red shirt for $5 at the Dollar General of all places! My goal was to use five ways so that you see you don't have to spend big bucks to have the look you're going for!

First,I used it as a bigger shirt with leggings and boots plus a scarf my mom gave me last year. Outfit1 Next, I threw it on with some jeans, my mom's crochet vest, and some knee high boots!! Outfit2 Keeping with the comfortable look of jeans, I just took the vest off and threw on my very favorite Goodwill find--cowboy boots for $6.25! (I tied the shirt up in the back so it gave a different look.) Outfit3
I was excited next for my favorite white jeans from Old Navy that I got for $8 two years ago! I paired it with my cowboy boots and a Forever 21 denim shirt ($3.99 at Goodwill!). Outfit4 Finally, I just took off the denim and put on a lace vest (my mom’s) to give it a more feminine look!
 IMG_9290

Five easy outfits all from one five dollar shirt! (Psst...my accessories are from my ALL TIME favorite...Noonday Collection! These are handcrafted paper beads that help these women provide for their families. My brown wrap bracelet is from Food for the Hungry! (I know these organizations would be so grateful for your support!)

Thank you, again, Michelyn, for having me! You can check out more of my budget friendly purchases (mostly from thrift stores!) on my blog, Restless Arrow!

If you are interested in appearing in an "A-Game Attire" guest post, please contact me to get additional information.

Amber was the first blogger/coach's wife to approach me about this feature, and I just love how she showcased 5 separate outfits! Whenever I buy clothes, I try to purchase versatile items that can be worn several times and several ways. Well, Amber has shown me up on my abilities. And please, please head on over to her blog! She has the most practical, yet beautiful thrifted Thanksgiving tablescape on her blog now! And, do not even get me started on her recent kitchen renovation which was so budget-friendly ($5000) but you would never guess it from the final reveal! I have read that post several times in pure amazement!

Bat An Eye - Three Ways

Hello! Last week I announced that I became a Younique Independent Presenter, and am currently hosting my first on-line party. It has been a joy sharing my fondness for the Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes, and receiving positive feedback from those ladies that have placed their orders.

What is so great is that if you are not satisfied with your order, you can return for a 100% refund! How awesome is that?!?

However, I am fairly certain that you will not want to return this product, but instead, that you will return to your computer to buy additional mascaras as gifts for your friends and family.

I have a little confession...  I really LOVED wearing false eyelashes! And when Shannon asked me if I wanted to try this mascara, I of course agreed, but just knew that the Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes would not compare.

Well, I was WRONG!

But, when you compare the 2 coats of Younique verse false eyelashes, in my opinion, the Younique 3D Fiber Lashes wins by a landfall! In the above photo, I am wearing Revlon Define (D20) which are pretty natural overall (to me at least!). I too  "seal" my false eyelashes with one coat of regular mascara, so the above picture should actually say False Eyelashes + Mascara, but you get the picture.

I actually think my lashes look more voluminous and full with the Younique mascara which is absolutely crazy to me! Have you ever worn false eyelashes? Well, they are not the easiest things to maneuver and I would consider myself a pro since I have been wearing them from my competitive dance and stage performance years (way before pageantry).

Basically, the Younique mascara is a complete breeze when you compare it to applying false eyelashes. But, if you are still an avid false eyelash wearer, guess what the Fiber Lashes can do for your false eyelash game...

Holy Wowzers!

Stop what you are doing and head on over to purchase your own mascara... Hurry, the party ends in a few days and friends don't let friends miss out on events like this!
