Monochromatic Nail Review

Let me be the first to put my foot in my mouth because I know I recently discussed my dismay in not being able to do Shellac (or gel manicures) any longer... Well, I went back to the stuff! I may be addicted. I do not know. I know, I know I can not decide if this is a good thing or bad but for now I am relishing in my gel manicures once again.

Like I stated previously, one must always pamper themsleves with a good manicure and pedicture on a regular basis. Now that I have a full-time job, I have upped my frequency to bimonthly instead of every three weeks! Perhaps, this will also salvage my pretty hands.

This time around I elected to do a monochromatic style. I rarely use red nail polish but it seemed to be calling me on Saturday! I frequently do french-style nails but with colors and I also enjoy doing one nail a different color so that it pops... This week, I combined my two favorite styles into one!

Wildfire and Decadence (darker color on tips and ring finger)
(All products used are CND Shellac)

What are your thoughts?!?

Treat Yourself to a Mani

As many people know, there are a few “essentials” to my beauty regimen. One of the most important, in my opinion, is maintaining well-manicured finger and toenails. I can remember as a youngster finding so much joy applying the stick-on acrylic nails. They never seemed to fit my wide nails perfectly and always fell off at the most inconvenient of times. In the end, I enjoyed the time spent with my mother as she assisted with the process.

In a previous post, I discussed my enamoration with Shellac. I was quite distraught when I realized that the dry atmosphere in Fargo did not personally suite well. I cannot be 100% certain that it is the dry air, but I did frequent four different nail salons when I first moved to Fargo. After each salon visit, my nails peeled within ONE week. Those shellac followers know that this is quite unusual…After coming to the realization that the common denominator in all of these unsuccessful visits was me, I decided that it was time to revert back to my acrylic days.

I must admit that there are a few drawbacks to acrylic nails. Namely - one must wait at least 15 minutes for the polish to dry, at the minimum. I too have found so much joy out of the endless designs, color combinations, and my particular liking to glitter. I have found so much inspiration for fun nail styles on pinterest and thought I would share a few of my favorites.
