Sportsy-Casual & Mommy-Approved

Just last week I purged my closet of so many clothes and shoes that it was a little absurd. In all, we sent two large trash bags and a medium-sized suitcase to Goodwill!

You must assume that I haven't cleaned my closet in a few years?!?

Wrong!

We have moved two times in the last three years, and with every move I have cleaned house! When we moved from Fargo, I rid my closet of about 20 pairs of shoes and lots of heavy winter wear. When we moved from Toledo to  Athens, I did away with many under-used purses and clothes. And prior to that, I had moved from Madison to Fargo, which was probably the biggest purge yet!

How I accumulate an abundance of clothes/shoes/purses is truly besides me because I do not shop, for clothes, every day! Isn't that the only way one could collect so much stuff?

Ok, I must admit that I am a bit of a shopping spree fanatic. I can go months without buying any clothes, and then hit it hard for a month straight, in an almost outrageous fashion.

Problems of a shopaholic, who is not admitting them-self into rehab!

It is my plan to wear many of my pregnancy clothes post-partum and then transition back into my previous wardrobe - starting with those "big girl" clothes first! You know that portion of your wardrobe that you lean towards during the holidays or when your activity level is a little below stellar.

Since I have no plans of buying a lot of new clothes right away, I figure I might as well re-stock my shoe game in the meantime. I too figure that many of these shoes can transition well into my A-Game attire once we get into the basketball season. I am envisioning that my style will be a little more sportsy than it has been in the past. I will adhere to my Coach's Wife: Tips for Dressing philosophy, but we may see a few less 3-inch knee high boots!

 A. New Balance '420' Sneaker

B. Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star Sneaker

C. Sperry Top-Sider

D. Tom's Canvas Originals

E. Superga 2750 COTU Classic

Prior to making my wish list, I consulted with the 'professionals' (aka my mommy friends). One of my friends, who also just happens to be a former beauty queen, recommended that I stick with neutral colors for shoes (brown/tan, gray/black, etc.). Now I have the Superga's shown in white but they also come in an assortment of colors.

I currently have two pair of Sperry's (gold, like above, & animal print) so do not plan to buy any others, but all the others are sitting in my shopping cart ready for me to pull the trigger!

A-Game Attire with 'It Works!'

Hi BBB followers! My name is Andrea Hansen and I am married to Austin Hansen, one of the Men's Assistant Basketball Coaches at University of South Dakota. We have two girls, Hannah Jo (2 years) and Hadlee Rae (4 months), and they keep us busy! We've been to 3 different schools since we've been married and this is our first year at USD! We are loving it here and it is awesome to be back in my husband's home state! I work from home with a company called It Works! Global. I stay home with my girls while promoting health and wellness online and love what I do!

I decided to join It Works! the week I had to go back to teaching with my first daughter. I didn't realize it was going to be so hard to leave Hannah until that day finally happened. I also wanted the flexibility to travel with my husband on recruiting trips and away games. I watched my sister become a top income earner in the company and so I knew I'd have a great mentor. I tried our #1 product, the ultimate body applicator. I definitely needed some tightening and toning after giving birth to a 9lb1oz baby! After seeing my personal results I knew I had to tell everyone about this product!

At first I fell in love with the wraps. I was in my pre-pregnancy clothes overnight and still to this day I'm amazed by that! Another one of my personal favorite products are the Greens. They are 8+ servings of fruits/vegetables and give you natural energy. They helped me kick my 10 year habit of drinking a diet pop in the afternoon, which I didn't think was possible! My all-time favorite product line might be our skin care! I've always had horrible skin and something I've felt self-conscious about so happy to find something that works on my skin.

This is 24 hours after my first wrap!

Coach Hansen's Results!
How did you and Coach meet?
Coach Hansen and I met 7 years ago when he was the assistant men's basketball coach at Minnesota State University-Mankato. One of my college basketball teammates introduced us at a golf course that I worked at during the summer months. I was teaching middle level science in Pequot Lakes at the time. Three years later Austin proposed to me on the 18th green at the same golf course we met at! I might add it was the only time I beat him in a round of golf...I should have known something was up!:)

Tell us a little bit about your college team?
We are now at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, SD. You get a small town feel living here, but you are also surrounded by larger cities for shopping/dining! The town of Vermillion loves their Coyotes!! We have a lot of community support around the Men's Basketball Program and it is special to be part of it.

Explain the girls' general, game-day attire style.
I love dressing my girls in outfits I would wear and they tend to look like little adults! Sometimes I even have us matching, but guessing my days are getting numbered and they won't let me do that with them anymore! I love dressing them in our school colors and finding fun hair accessories to go with their outfits.

Fitness Fashion: Nike Edition

TGIF!!!!! Well, I am back in Toledo and excited that things are coming together for Team Kemp in Athens.

While in Athens, I did swim in the hotel pool, ride the bicycle in the hotel gym, and take Prince on many walks throughout the day; however, overall, I tried to keep my activity pretty low-intensity. I am beyond happy to be home where I can cook all my meals and return to my workouts!

Today I thought it would be fun to do a little Nike window shopping. All of the apparel that I wore for the Glass City Marathon was Nike besides my socks and running shoes. I have to say, Nike is one of my favorite workout brands.

Because I am girly and like pink/purple, I figured I would pick a few outfits and accessories with a Spring-time theme.

Happy Shopping!

Question of the Day: Do you think I am too old to wear the spandex shorts? I love the sports bra + shorts combo, but have been hesitant to pull the trigger. I would wear the shirt over! I don't do bare midriffs any more!

March Madness Updates & Rocket Inspired Closet Wants!

Who's Going Dancing as of 3.12.2014?!?

It is such an exhilarating and stressful time of year for many college basketball programs, including the women's teams. I am so thrilled for the North Dakota State University Bison's MBB for winning yet another Summit League tournament all within the last six years (2009 and 2014)! I am also pleased knowing that Milwaukee clinched the win for the Horizon league.

Let's see who else will be dancing!

Now, I would not say that I am a fashionista by any means, but I do find pleasure in dressing. I am not a big fan of the university bookstore t-shirts and regalia - I typically try to adorn the school colors when cheering on my squad. I am all packed and ready to head over to Cleveland later in the day, and I figured it would be fun to do a little virtual shopping. The below outfit is not anything that I packed, but I would don this ensemble in a hot minute!
