Becoming A Calm Mom: Strategy #5

Happy Tuesday beauties!!!

You know the next strategy that is outlined in Dr. Ledley's has actually been pretty helpful as Coach and I cheered on our Badgers in both the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 games! We are so very excited that the Wisconsin Badgers have progressed to the Final Four back-to-back. We are planning to attend the games again this year. I promise that my attire is Badger-fan approved, unlike last year.

So here is the 5th strategy:

Tips for Creating a Calm Body and Soul
Try the following relaxation strategies to create a Calm Body and Soul:
  •         Breathing exercises
  •         Muscle relaxation
  •         Positive energy
  •         Listen to music
  •         Dance with your baby in a sling or infant carrier
  •         Take a bath or shower
  •         Go for a walk
  •         Do yoga
  •         Call a friend or family member
  •        Do anything else that you used to find relaxing before having a baby

  1. This is a great post! Although I'm not a mom, I can definitely apply these strategies to every day stressful life! I've found that intentionally giving off positive energy (although not always easy to do) helps me to stay calm during stressful moments. Oh, and taking a shower.. that always helps!

    1. Yes, Claire! I am such a huge proponent of positive thinking! Have you read "The Secret". If not, I highly recommend it!

  2. In nice weather I go for a 20 minute walk. If I have a quiet house a nice cup of Peppermint Tea is a mini holiday. To release stress as a last resort and to accomplish some measures of music that are challenging I practice my violin. I would think playing the piano would be equally soothing. Overall Classical music will "soothe the savage beast" . Try it. Darlene

    1. Not a huge proponent or avid classic music listener for calming... May need to reconsider. Should buy some baby classical music DVDs.
